IGNIV Bangkok

In its first location outside Switzerland, IGNIV by Andreas Caminada has spread its wings & landed to create a new nest at The St. Regis Bangkok. Imagined by Andreas Caminada, the Swiss founding chef of IGNIV and head chef of the internationally acclaimed 3-Michelin-starred restaurant Schloss Schauenstein in Switzerland, IGNIV is all about a unique fine dining sharing experience, led by head chef David Hartwig, along with his sous chef and pastry chef Arne Riehn.

Following the success of Andreas Caminada’s IGNIV restaurants in the Swiss Alps at St. Moritz and Bad Ragaz, both of which have been awarded with Michelin stars, the new gourmet nest will be the first addition to the IGNIV family outside Chef Andreas’s native Switzerland.

IGNIV, meaning ‘nest’ in Romansh, will be a place to simultaneously escape from, and revel in the Thai capital’s essence. The unique sharing concept aims to connect diners and offers a culinary experience where one can connect not just with the food but with each other. Menus at IGNIV Bangkok are seasonal and light, prepared with traditional cooking techniques elevated to modern perfection. Ingredients impeccably sourced both locally and internationally through artisanal crafts’ people and purveyors.

The restaurant’s modern but cozy ambiance comes courtesy of acclaimed Spanish interior designer Patricia Urquiola. Refined fabric boiseries are combined with colorful furniture to complement the energy of the city. With her unique sense of space, Patricia has created a feeling of comfort for indoor areas, which beautifully reflect the attributes of the IGNIV nest character.

The St. Regis Bar

Linger over classic cocktails as you enjoy live music with a backdrop of the setting sun in The St. Regis Bar, located on the hotel’s 12th floor. The bar offers an elegant and refined ambiance with high ceilings, polished wood floors and a subtle palette of dark, polished wood, charcoal gray and coffee tones, all bathed in soft light.

Furnishings are arranged for intimate conversations, as well as just sitting back on a plush banquette or sofa and taking in the stunning views from floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and the dazzling Bangkok skyline. Mingle at the beautiful 14-meter long black marble bar or enjoy some fresh air on the bar’s outdoor terrace.

The St. Regis Bar honors the hotel’s rich lineage by serving renowned drinks such as the Bloody Mary, first created at the St. Regis New York in 1934. Here, it takes on distinctly Bangkok twist as the bar’s signature drink, the Siam Mary. We’ve localized the classic recipe with spicy Thai chili, wasabi, lime, coriander, Thai basil and lemongrass. The extensive drinks menu also includes an extraordinary selection of premiere spirits, classic cocktails, and Champagne. The light menu includes classic dishes such as a club sandwich and fresh strawberries and cream.

VIU Restaurant

Located on the 12th floor next to the Sky Lobby, Viu embraces captivating views of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, and beyond. By day, the inviting restaurant offers a bright, sunny environment that recalls the grace and character of a stately home.

If you are in the mood for a deliciously indulgent morning meal, enjoy our special Astor Champagne breakfast or a variety of breakfast menus with selections from eggs cooked to order and handcrafted breads, jams and pastries to hot dishes and Asian-style offerings, including sushi and wok-fried egg noodles. In additional, we also offer American, Chinese, Continental, Thai and Wellbeing a la carte breakfast menus. Our delectable lunch menu includes chef’s favorite dishes such as roasted lamb rack, seared wild caught salmon, and local cuisine includes Thai fiery salads, flavorsome curries, and regional Thai snacks.

By night, sheer drapes and dimmed lighting transform Viu into a favored destination for its internationally influenced menu and seductive ambiance, clearly meant for elegant dining. The restaurant’s focal point is a rustic European farmhouse style kitchen framed by rough stone. Ceiling beams and a stone slab floor add to the rustic feel. White stone-topped tables are set for two or four diners with options easily arranged for larger groups. Brightly colored tablemats are changed according to the time of day to match the red and cream-colored upholstered chairs.

A wide selection of new and old world wines as well as fine, handcrafted cocktails complement the perfect Viu dining experience.

The restaurant’s private room is ideal for family dining or exclusive dining and outdoor seating offers a casual lounge atmosphere.

Zuma

While respecting the nuances of tradition, Zuma embraces modernity both in its cooking style and in its interior concept. Organic materials and traditional textiles create the ideal restaurant environment—an oasis of calm. Dedicated chefs run an exceptional sushi counter, and the robata grill has been inspired by the distinctive cooking style of northern Japanese fishermen.

Split by a wall of heavy, clear glass blending the interior seamlessly with the exterior, the bar extends the dining area out to the extensive, beautifully-landscaped terrace. There, a large outdoor lounge room is surrounded by lush tropical plants and soothing water features, showcasing the verdant beauty of our Bangkok surroundings.

Authentic Japanese fine dining is served with an emphasis on quality ingredients and simple presentation. The menu is designed for sharing, with dishes that are brought continuously throughout the meal to the table from the kitchen, the robata grill, or the sushi bar. The combination of the three cooking styles results in a mixture of tastes, temperatures, and textures that create a custom dining experience.

Signature dishes at our hotel restaurant include tsubu-miso gake hinadori no obun yaki (baby chicken marinated in barley miso, oven-roasted on cedar wood) and, from the robata grill, gyuhire sumibiyaki karami zuke (spicy beef tenderloin with sesame, red chili, and sweet soy). At the sushi counter, suzuki no osashimi is a thinly-sliced sea bass with yuzu, truffle oil, and salmon roe. The dynamite spider roll is created from soft-shell crab, chili mayonnaise, cucumber, and wasabi tobiko sauce.
