Salvatore Calabrese, widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential bartenders, has crafted “Sicily around the World”, the new cocktail menu at Igiea Terrazza Bar, featuring ten signature cocktails that blend international influences with Sicilian heritage.

The newly launched “Sicily around the World” cocktail menu by Salvatore Calabrese unveils a cosmopolitan vision of Sicily that honors its rich heritage. Ten new cocktails blend international influences with authentic Sicilian flavors – paying homage to the rich cultural legacy of Sicilian emigrants who carried the island’s spirit across the world.

The spirit of the island has long influenced the cultural and culinary landscapes of countries across the globe, from the UK to Japan, the United States, Argentina, Tunisia and Brazil. These global connections are captured in the flavours and aromas of the Sicily around the World menu, which also features nine classic cocktails alongside four expertly crafted mocktails.

Open daily from 10.30am to midnight, Igiea Terrazza Bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee, light lunch or unwind with an aperitivo to the sounds of live music while taking in the views of the Gulf of Palermo from the panoramic terrace. Completing the hotel’s culinary offering are the iconic Florio Restaurant and the refined Alicetta Bistro, both curated by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini.

Sicily around the world - Salvatore Calabrese’s cocktail list for Igiea Terrazza Bar PERPETUUM | A British classic, inspired by Sicilian bounty, Marsala carried the island’s warmth north. Cultivated by the noble Florio family, founders of Villa Igiea, it paved the way for other Mediterranean riches, linking two cultures through taste and trade. Robust and smoky with rich fruity notes and a bitter, aromatic finish. Benriach The Twenty-One Whisky, Marsala Florio Aegusa 2001, Campari Cask Tales, Bergamot spray.

SAKURA | Driven east by Etna’s fire, the Protosiculi set sail for new worlds, finding a spiritual kinship in the Land of the Rising Sun. Their long journey carved out one of the earliest connections between East and West, guided by faith and purpose. Spicy, floral with a herbaceous undertone. Bulldog Gin, Medlar liqueur, Yuzu sake, Sakura Bitter, Oregano and Green Tea Infusion.

VIA CALIA | Drawn by new opportunities, our people settled along Tunisia’s coast, laying roots in unfamiliar soil and giving rise to Little Sicily. Their agricultural expertise helped the prickly pear flourish - a humble cactus that grew into a shared source of prosperity and pride. Smoky exoticism with a golden, spiced lift. CAFEZINHO | In the fertile fields of southern Brazil, our island’s spirit took root. Hardworking hands forged a legacy where coffee became a shared ritual, rich with energy and intent. IRIS | Sicily supported Germany’s postwar boom with a shared sense of strength and spirit. Villa Igiea, a Rocco Forte Hotel, celebrates the magic of cinema with a season of open-air film screenings set in splendid seafront gardens, paired with a set-jetting itinerary that uncovers some of Palermo’s most iconic film locations.

Palermo, 16th July 2025. This summer, Villa Igiea transforms into a captivating open-air cinema for Cinema: journeys through the world and the soul, a curated collection of film screenings that explore travel in all its forms – physical, emotional and metaphorical – through the lens of contemporary cinema.

Set against the backdrop of the hotel’s seafront gardens, the screenings are accompanied by conversations with leading voices from the film industry. From 16th July to 1st October, Villa Igiea will host five special evenings featuring critically acclaimed films and distinguished guests.

On 3rd September, the Hotel will host Oscar-winning production designer Dante Ferretti and set decorator Francesca Lo Schiavo, who will delve into the making of Martin Scorsese’s Hugo. On 24th September, there will be an exclusive screening and conversation with multi-award-winning director Luca Guadagnino and rising star Giovanni Tortorici, while on 1st October actress Benedetta Porcaroli, known for her role in Netflix’s The Leopard, will join for a closing night celebration.

Teatro Massimo – The Godfather part three - Francis Ford Coppola - 1990 – nominated for seven Oscars| The itinerary starts with the opportunity to relive classic cinematography. In The Godfather part three Michael’s son Anthony performs in Palermo as an opera singer at the Teatro Massimo. Villa Igiea’s guests will be able to visit this landmark in Palermo through a behind-the-scenes tour and a show at the magnificent Theatre.

Palazzo Abatellis – Palermo Shooting, 2008, Wim Wenders, at the Cannes Festival contest | The second part of the itinerary still plays on the stark contrasts typical of the island. Palazzo Abatellis is a residence oozing grandeur, home to the ‘Galleria Regionale’ curated by world renowned architect Carlo Scarpa. Totally off the beaten track, chosen by Wim Wenders for a scene of Palermo Shooting where the history of Palermo’s society is depicted starting from a painting.

Palazzo Gangi – The Leopard, 1963, directed by Luchino Visconti – Golden Palm in Cannes | The backdrop changes dramatically when you step into the home of the Princess of Valguarnera, one of the best-preserved aristocratic palazzos in the heart of Palermo. Principessa Vanni Calvello will reveal all the interesting anecdotes related to the shooting of the film The Leopard.

Villa Palagonia – The Adventure - Michelangelo Antonioni - 1960, winner of the jury prize in Cannes | The fourth part is a location that both film directors Antonioni and Tornatore chose due to its strong appeal. Guests will be able to explore the tree lined boulevard and halls on a walking tour organized by a contemporary Sicilian artist.

Tuna Fishery in Scopello - Ocean’s Twelve - 2004 - Steven Soderberg | The itinerary begins in Scopello at the historic tuna fishery which is situated in a sheltered position between the rocks of Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito lo Capo, the latter being the flagship of the Nature Reserve of the Zingaro. This is the perfect opportunity to have a walk down to the magnificent bay where one of the scenes from Ocean's Twelve by Steven Soderbergh was filmed.
