MASSERIA TORRE MAIZZA LAUNCHES ARTISTIC EVENT CALENDAR IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HELEN MIRREN IN BID TO “SAVE THE OLIVES”

April 2024: This 2024 season, Masseria Torre Maizza, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Puglia, will host Italy’s leading cultural, musical and artistic figures for an exclusive calendar of events, in the name of sustainability. Proceeds will go to "Save The Olives" a charity founded by
award-winning actress and philanthropist Helen Mirren. As a patron of Masseria Torre Maizza’s musical extravaganza, Dame Mirren has campaigned passionately to safeguard
Puglia’s olive trees, which hold historical and cultural significance for the region and face extinction from parasites.

Hidden within a 15th-century olive grove, Masseria Torre Maizza champions mindful hospitality, carefully designing guest experiences to benefit the environment. . As a
cultural partner of the Bari International Jazz Festival and, for the sixth consecutive year, the main sponsor of the Festival della Valle d'Itria, this season will see Masseria Torre Maizza become a musical destination in it’s own right. The 2024 calendar includes:

*20th June: A performance by students of the Accademia Celletti in a piano and vocal
concert titled "Belcanto, from Handel to Bellini: the history of the Festival della Valle d'Itria

*6th July: The rhythm of British artist Ray Gelato in a jam session accompanied by The Giants on saxophones in "The Godfather of Swing" - in partnership with the 2024
edition of the Bari In Jazz Festival.

* 12th July: An exclusive preview of the 50th edition of the Festival della Valle d'Itria

featuring a live medley on piano and vocals.
* 26th July: In partnership with the 2024 edition of the Bari In Jazz Festival, Brazilian pianist Amaro Freitas will play for guests in the hotel gardens, framed by rustic pews
and orange trees.

* 8th August: An evening concert by Brazilian singer Leo Middea at Lido Bambù beach club - in partnership with the 2024 edition of the Bari In Jazz Festival. From music to painting, Masseria Torre Maizza has also collaborated with DeoDato Art Gallery, bringing the vibrant colors of the Milanese gallery to the heart of Puglia. Artistic events will include:

*15th April to 30th October: A selection of masterpieces inspired by the harmonies of music and the flavors of food | The white walls of the sixteenth-century estate from host the extravagant creations of Daniele Fortuna and Marco Lodola, alongside pieces with vibrant tones by Romero Britto. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the sale of these exhibited works will support the "Save The Olives" non-profit organization led by Helen Mirren.

*30th August: Dinner and a live performance from artist Daniele Fortuna.For guests of Masseria Torre Maizza, the 2024 season promises an unprecedented calendar of
international performances, united in their ambition to safeguard the Apulian olive tree.

 

Italy at 100 MPH

Summer 2024 marks the start of a customizable journey through a combination of nine regions and eight hotels.

New for summer 2024, Rocco Forte Hotels are excited to announce an exclusive sports car experience spanning nine Italian regions and eight different hotels. “Italy at 100 mph” promises a memorable journey through the Italian countryside via Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati, available to be taken as a couple, a family or a group of up to forty sports cars.

The route passes through the verdant vineyards of Tuscany, exploring roads that date back to the Roman Empire, carrying on to the Eternal City of Rome and finishing in the Mediterranean paradise of Sicily. The four-wheel-excursion is available to drive independently, with a driver or with an escort vehicle upon request.

From a one-day itinerary to an epic ten-day tour, “Italy at 100 mph” offers various combinations of journey by sports car, passing through Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Abruzzo, Campania, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata and Sicily. After thrilling days on the road, guests can absorb the culture of each region whilst staying at a Rocco Forte Hotel. They will be hosted at Hotel Savoy in Florence; Hotel de Russie, Hotel de la Ville and Rocco Forte House in Rome; Masseria Torre Maizza in Puglia and Villa Igiea, Verdura Resort and Rocco Forte Private Villas in Sicily.

“Italy at 100 mph” is a new and exciting way to experience Italy's cultural, artistic and gastronomic heritage, allowing guests to create their own itinerary. Drivers can even star in their own movielike masterpiece, reminiscent of classic Italian cinema, with the option to employ a professional videographer and drone operator to document the journey.

RESTORATIVE HOSPITALITY INSPIRED BY THE RHYTHMS OF APULIA

Masseria Torre Maizza, a Rocco Forte Hotel, unveils new offerings, including deeply local itineraries, landscape-inspired restorative experiences, and eleven elegant new suites that are set to debut in July 2025.

Italy’s southern region of Apulia offers an idyllic escape to unwind and connect with the restorative rhythm of local wellness traditions. Offering a warm and cocooning setting, Masseria Torre Maizza provides the perfect base to explore the region through carefully curated itineraries that highlight Apulia’s cultural, natural and gastronomic heritage, created exclusively for Rocco Forte Hotels guests by local tour operator Southern Visions for the 2025 season:

Foraging for one’s personal perfume| Designed to fully engage the senses, this itinerary blends personal experiences with the region’s rich botanical heritage. Accompanied by a master perfumer, guests take part in a guided walk through the Apulian countryside, gathering wildflowers, aromatic herbs and native plants along the way. The experience culminates in a hands-on workshop where participants craft their own personal fragrance capturing the essence of the region, creating a unique olfactory memory of their Apulian stay.

Marine Sound Bath | From the nearby town of Monopoli, guests can enjoy a leisurely boat ride to a secluded grotto where local musicians perform concerts using traditional Apulian instruments, their melodies echoing off the stone walls in harmony with the sound of the waves gently lapping the walls. Meditation sessions and sea-inspired sound baths can also be organized here, before the journey continues to Polignano a Mare, a delightful coastal town that has been dubbed ‘the Amalfi of Apulia’ for its dramatic cliffside setting.

Lido Bambù, the Hotel’s stylish beach club, offers a serene setting to savor Apulian beach life and wonderful lunches by the shore.

Set in verdant grounds framed by secular olive groves and dotted with quintessential Apulian courtyards, Masseria Torre Maizza in the Itria Valley has expanded its accommodation offering with the “Borgo degli Ulivi”, with eleven new rooms and suites, each equipped with private garden and swimming pool. Designed by creative force Olga Polizzi, the company’s Vice President and Design Director, “Borgo degli Ulivi” is set to launch in July 2025 with the opening of:

Itria Suite, a Forte Suite measuring 75sqm;

Four Corner Suites, each measuring 70sqm;

Six Junior Suites, each measuring 55sqm.

Blending contemporary touches with authentic Apulian elements, “Borgo degli Ulivi” echoes the distinctive design introduced with “Borgo Pietra Viva”, which marked Masseria Torre Maizza’s debut in 2019, after a complete refurbishment.

The culinary proposal - curated by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, Food Creative Director of Rocco Forte Hotels - pays tribute to the Apulian tradition:

in the refined Carosello, overlooking the Masseria's ancient citrus grove;

in the relaxing oasis by the pool, Violetta Pool Bar’s menu features Mediterranean flavors;

under the arches of what was once the Masseria's barn, the Bouganvillea bar.
