Service With A Smile

June

Pros: Good service, spacious rooms and closet. Superior Service

Cons: Bathroom showers were very small. Minimal offerings for vegetarians and vegans

Recommended: No

My experience on the Seabourn Quest was one to remember. The best part was the staff. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating they go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy. The quickly memorize who you are and address you by name. The little touches went a long way.

Host experience in Asia

March

Pros: Stateroom size, staff, itinerary

Cons: Shore Excursions

Recommended: No

Hosted lovely Signature clients on an Asia cruise from Hong Kong to Yokohama, visiting several ports, including 2 in Taiwan, 1 in South Korea (Busan) and 6 in Japan. The crew was lovely, the balcony staterooms were what other mass market lines would call, "minisuites." Very small shower for the size of stateroom and quality of line. They definitely need an overhaul of their shore excursion program. On a competing line, which has very similar staterooms and dining, one excursion in each port is included. These are not and are very pricey for what they were. The private ones I booked separately through Project Expedition were WAY better, and around the same rate.

Truly Amazing and Attentive Crew

February

Pros: Food, Crew

Cons: The entertainment was great on some nights and not as good on others

Recommended: No

From the first day, nearly all of the crew knew our names and our preferences. We were greeted in the hall, coming into and out of restaurants, and even in the lounges by name. We experienced a bartender leaving a busy bar to bring us our preferred after dinner cocktail and ice water at a table further away. I didn't even know he saw me come in. The food was incredible. Every meal at every venue was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. I could not have a higher recommendation for the cuisine on this cruise line.

A classic Seabourn experience

January

Pros: Best possible staff and crew with impeccable individual attention to the guests

Cons: There were none on this trip

Recommended: Yes

The itinerary was excellent and full of “Seabourn moments” like the classical sail away from Fiordland National Park with beautiful music, champagne and caviar.

Cruising at it's finest!

November

Pros: Excellent crew. Outstanding Dining. Awesome .Entertainment

Cons: No yellow mustard or Tapatio or Chulua Sauces. Minor issue really.

Recommended: Yes

Loved so much about this great ship and crew! Only wish they would remove bath tubs to allow room for larger beds. No one uses the tubs. The ship's entertainers were really top notch and the guest entertainers brought on board were also incredible!

Amazing 18 Days on the Seabourn Quest

November

Pros: Small ship, family-like atmosphere

Cons: The nightly entertainment show at 9:30 is too late for the clientele. Lunch not served until noon is also late.

Recommended: No

Sailing on the Seabourn Quest was the most relaxing cruise I have ever experienced. There is so much to say about it. The ship was small, accommodating just over 400 guests. At times, you could walk down a hallway or go to an elevator without seeing another person. The crew was incredible; they worked hard to remember your name, likes, and dislikes while providing fast, attentive service—all with a smile. The officers were always present around the ship and were very approachable, often dining in the same restaurants as the guests. Many of them participated in scheduled events as well. The cruise director was fun, bubbly, friendly, and an amazing singer, while the assistant entertainment director was equally engaging but did not sing. Guest services were warm and gracious, always ready to solve any problems or answer questions from guests. It felt as if everyone on board was family. The food was delectable and delightful. The chefs were accommodating and catered to everyone's specific dietary needs or requests. Sailing with Seabourn truly lived up to its slogan: "This is Your Moment!"

Seabourne Request Review

October

Pros: Excellent embarkation and disembarkation prcess we have experienced. Meals and staff were also excellent. Cabin and service also excellent

Cons: Comunication to passengers were not clear, nor was communication from Seabourn to passengers prior to departure.. I thought the excursions were substandard for Seabournas compared to independent vendors we hired when so any of the tours were sold out was in advance. Some tours we had cancelled before emnbarkation were still not cancelled in the ships records.

Recommended: Yes

Seabourn cruises are always good, but this was not one of the best. We found on more than once excursion that when we returned the dinning room was closed and we had to eat our lunch outside in stormy weather. Another lunch the buffet lunch was oversold and they had to open Solis to provide luncheon service or eat outside during stormy weather? Pre-sailing instructions were also confusing on accessions like recommend you bring your own laundry bag. The crew said this was silly as they provide their own laundry bags. The crew was excellent and very helpful. The food was also excellent, thought I thought Solis was some what over rated. The independent excursions were far superior than the Seabourn tours and much cheaper. The embarkation and disembarkation process was the best I have ever experienced from any cruise line. We had an excellent time, so negative comments were minor, but this Seabourn should look into. Even this spell check form doesn't spell Seabourn correctly!!! Unfortunately we had bad weather and some port cancellations due to this.

10 Day Jewels of the Riviera with Seabourn

June

Pros: Great itinerary with wonderful ports of call

Cons: No walking track for those who enjoy walking on board.

Recommended: No

The Seabourn Quest is a beautifully appointed and well kept ship. With a maximum capacity of 450 people, guests feel spoiled and well taken care of. The crew is very attentive and the officers & entertainment departments are consistently mingling with guests which helps the guests to feel special. The cuisine and presentations are all lovely, and they have a nice variety of alternative menus for those with dietary restrictions.  Their  one specialty dining restaurant, Solis, is fabulous.
The gym is very nice for a smaller ship and the all-included classes are excellent.  This ship has 2 self service laundry rooms with ironing boards and full-size irons which came in handy.

A Lovely Cruise in a Beautiful Part of the World

October

Pros: Ship is in excellent condition. The staff is efficient, warm and friendly and anxious to please. The production numbers and guest performers were outstanding, especially considering the small size of the ship. The computers at Seabourn Square are a definite plus for passengers who need to work onboard.

Cons: The Restaurant was only open from 8 AM to 9 AM for breakfast and 12 PM to 1 PM for lunch making the Colonnade quite crowded during the hours it was open. The pool deck dining would have been used more except most days were cold, a couple were rainy, making that dining venue unusable to all but the most hearty. Other than the Thomas Keller fried chicken night at the Colonnade, I must say the food was rather ordinary and the portions small. I ordered lamb chops for dinner at The Restaurant one night, expecting nice thick center cut chops, but received the same three small lollipop chops I received at breakfast. But the gelato and caviar flowed freely, and I enjoyed both. I think The Club and the Observation Lounge are lovely rooms, but generally found them to be crowded. I think the public lounges are too small when the ship is full.

Recommended: No

Embarkation at the Port of NYC was simple with an assigned embarkation time. We went straight to the ship without waiting in any kind of line. The rest of the report will be Pros and Cons.

October

Pros: We certainly enjoyed the penthouse Suite, the amazing service by the staff!

Cons: The shower is slippery, maybe some type of mat?

Recommended: Yes

At times the Colonnade eating area was very congested especially after tours end, no tables available.possibly stay open 1/2 hour later? In the past we have enjoyed the outside patio as a fall back as their hours of operation is until 3;30, but it was too cold to eat outside on several days. The heaters helped but maybe some type of wind block could be provided for fall trips.. The Staff on the patio area's however were very helpful! Also the reservations for the special nights in the Colonnade were difficult to get. Two times we had reservations at 8:30 as that was all that was available, and felt very rushed to wrap up by 9. The staff in all area's is A+

Cruise to Canada 8/30/2019 to 9/10/2019

September

Pros: Interesting cities and towns, generally good weather, excellent service, good food

Cons: Weather was a little cold at times, Hurricane Dorian necessitated a diversion for two days.

Recommended: Yes

This was our fourth Seabourn cruise. The level of service is excellent, as is the food. I found the destinations in Canada interesting, and the excursions we booked were generally good.

Great trip to Antartica and South America

February

Pros: Smaller ship - about 500 passengers, great stable ship in rough seas, amazing crew and staff that made everyday special

Cons:

Recommended: Yes

We had a great time, and appreciate our agents help getting it booked, arranging flights, and transfer in Buenos Ares. While there are cheaper cruises, the all inclusive nature of this cruise, six days in Antartica, and actual landings on the continent, 21 days, and all staterooms were suites characteristic made it well worth the extra cost. The ship, crew, staff and entertainers were top notch! They were all extremely friendly, proficient, and went the extra mile to make sure passengers were well taken care of all the time. The added cost for shore excursions in ports, and quality of some of the excursions didn't thrill me. However, Antartica was the focus of the trip, and the zodiac rides, wet landings, and expedition staff's lectures, guidance on land and personalities were perfect!

Ultra Luxury Cruising in the British Isles

May

Pros: Fantastic ship, amazing staff, wonderful guests, beautiful scenery!

Cons: Some of the ports of call were in very small towns with not much to offer but the scenery which was beautiful.

Recommended: No

If you are departing or ending a cruise in Dover and want to avoid the hustle bustle of a pre or post hotel in London I would recommend a stay in Dover with a visit to the Dover Castle. This started the trip off quite nicely. On embarkation day we were right near the ship. No need for a long transfer with traffic. The Seabourn Quest is the newest ship of its sister ships the Odyssey & Sojourn. Sailing on Seabourn is a luxury! Everything is included, gratuities, beverages, specialty restaurants. Which automatically puts you in a relaxed carefree state of mind. The staff learns your name pretty quickly, always greeting you accordingly and knows your preferences for beverages. Their attention to detail is certainly noticed and well appreciated. There are four dining venues on board with "The Restaurant" being their main dining room. Excellent choices every night. The Colonnade is their more casual venue which transforms into unique themed menu offerings on certain evenings by Chef Thomas Keller. Which is a completely different concept than his Signature specialty restaurant on board "The Grill by Thomas Keller". Both require a reservation but was easy to get when requested. There is also "The Patio" which is Al Fresco dining pool side. Great when weather permitting and fun! I will have to say the dining was incredible no matter what restaurant we went to. I particularly enjoyed the Colonnade when they had the Thomas Keller special evenings. Entertainment on board can vary depending on your specific likes . Some I found to be fabulous, The Barricade Boys! Very talented musical group that could play anything. Comedian Martin Beaumont very, very funny! Others not to my liking. It could have been me but the entertainment that I didn't enjoy certainly didn't affect my having a fabulous time meeting wonderful people from all of the world including the staff! I can certainly recommend a Seabourn cruise to anyone who can appreciate the finer things in life. You can't get much better than this.

7-day cruise

June

Pros: Small ship, great itinerary, superb food, large cabin with excellent shower

Cons: cigar smoking area is extremely limited

Recommended: No

The Quest was in great condition, and the crew and service was over the top. The food was superb and the wine selections with each meal were outstanding. A change in itinerary was unfortunate but handled amazingly well by all crew members who went out of their way to make sure everyone as happy as they could be.

Seabourn cruise to Antarctica & S America

February

Pros: Chose this cruise for the destinations. How often can you land on the continent of Antarctica? Saw so much wildlife. Especially loved the penguins, nature's little cartoons. Absolutely awesome!

Seabourn Cruise #2

October

Pros: Excellent staff & service, food outstanding and cabins very spacious and comfortable

Cons: Shore excursions expensive and internet service is an extra charge.

Recommended: Yes

Our second Seabourn trip and we enjoyed it once again. Our first was on the Seaboard Odyssey. We have learned that it's a good idea to plan ahead for shore excursions and book through a third party or simply get a map and do your own walking tours when possible.

Excellent ship

May

Pros: Roomy well-designed cabin, excellent food

Cons: Onboard communications not always clear

Recommended: Yes

Overwhelming majority of employees were very friendly and always helpful. We appreciated the champagne greeting on arrival in our cabin and the beautiful red rose left on our bed on our first morning. Throwing out our just blooming rose at breakfast on Friday gave us the feeling our room stewardess was glad to start cleaning out this group even though we had a full day left to enjoy. There were very few early evening activities. Twice there was a very good magician. Entertainment and dancing was often too late for us. 5-7 pm was a particularly empty time, with little in the way of food options. Not everyone enjoys Formal Night. We were able to find food at the pool; however, pools and whirlpools were ALL closed. Guess our personal schedule just didn't mesh very well with the ship's activities.

Baltic cruise, May 2016

May

Pros: LOVE the ship, LOVE the suites, Love the itineraries

Cons: Less inclusive than other Luxury lines (wifi, spa faciilities unless upper cats, shore ex)

Recommended: No

• The ship décor is stunning. Lots of art, most decent, not boring pieces. • Suite very similar to suites on Regent (which I love) but with a more stylish décor. Many thoughtful details and clever design- iPod docking station, amazing shower head, sensational marble in the bathrooms (Tub + Shower). • Service was personalized the way only a small ship can (they made a point of learning our names by 2nd day, etc.). We cruised at the very start of the season so there was a lot of new crew, but experienced staff were training them effectively. • Food. The Thomas Keller partnership is a boon to the brand and all his creations (which were periodically served in the Main Dining Room and the Casual Restaurant, as well as the dedicated Specialty Restaurant) were super delicious. The rest of the menus were classic - well prepared and presented beautifully but nothing too exotic or even unfamiliar. *Spa facilities are extensive for ship of this size

Best cruise ship experience

April

Pros: Delicious meals, clean ship, friendly crew.

Cons: They mention free shoulder massages on deck, but almost impossible to get one.

Recommended: Yes

Seabourn was everything I expected from a luxury cruise line. My only little disappointment were the mini massages they offered on deck. When I asked about them I was told that you needed to sign up and that they are only offered at 11am on a very small deck near the spa. Also informed me that even if you signed up there may not be anyone available. I never experienced the free mini massage and that was one of the perks that had persuaded me to choose Seabourn. Besides that everything else was superb!
